The Pritzker family is an American family of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. It has longstanding ties to Chicago, where grandfather Abram Pritzker founded the fortune in the wild 1930s as "the clean face of a dirty business". The family early identified, financed and furthered the political career of a young Barack Obama.
In 2015, Forbes reported that 11 family members were billionaires and within the top 400 of richest Americans.[1]
