Mind fucking, or crazy-making behaviors are techniques designed to disrupt people's normal mode of rational thinking

Mind fucking, or crazy-making behaviors are techniques designed to disrupt people's normal mode of rational thinking.

It might be part of PR campaigns, Brainwashing or any other deception.

Effects on targets may range from confusion, regression (help seeking behavior as intended in strategy of tension-like manipulations) to temporary psychosis as in "hard" forms of Mind Control, i.e. torture based mind control as practiced by cults and in offshore black sites.

Phobia induction might be part of Mind fucking.

The term was popularized by seminars of Gestalt psychologist Fritz Perls at Esalen Institute, meaning roughly to lead someone by the nose, derail or suck people involved into a side issue by use of pretending or deceiving others.

Introduced by the subculture of parody religions, i.e the Church of the SubGenuis and Discordianism, Operation Mindfuck is an important practice in the Discordian religion, in which "all national calamities, assassinations, or conspiracies" are publicly attributed to the Bavarian Illuminati, in an attempt to "sow the culture with paranoia," as well as to highlight the absurdity of conspiracy theories - which is a rather accurate description of what the CIA proposed in its (now public) report Countering Criticism of the Warren Report, where the now infamous meme "conspiracy theory" was introduced to try to derail a serious discussion of the JFK/Assassination by questioning the sanity of researchers.

An example

Page nameDescription
"Conspiracy theory"An enemy image used to equate scepticism of government with craziness. It was developed by the CIA to try to contain doubt about the FBI's "Oswald did it, case closed" approach to the JFK assassination. It is now being associated with dangerous and violent insanity, in an effort to promote internet censorship of free speech.
