Michael J. Ellis is Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency[1] and is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Rumble, a privately-owned company working in the video-sharing platform industry.[2] He was previously General Counsel of the National Security Agency (NSA) and in several roles with the first Trump administration including Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Intelligence Programs at the National Security Council (NSC).[3]
Earlier, Michael Ellis was a visiting fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies and was General Counsel of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence when he compiled the House Intelligence Committee's report on the Snowden leaks.
Ellis is a graduate of Yale Law School and Dartmouth College and has been an intelligence officer in the US Navy Reserve since 2007.[4]
