Mehmet Ağar is a former Turkish politician whom Hüseyin Baybaşin claimed lead the heroin trafficking through Turkey.[1]

Mehmet Ağar was tipped off about the assassination plot which lead to the Susurluk car crash and he told the others (Abdullah Çatlı, Gonca Us, Huseyin Kocadağ, Sedat Bucak) to leave without him.[2]
Activities
In 1996, Hüseyin Baybaşin claimed that the heroin distribution operations were controlled by Mehmet Ağar. In 1997 he claimed further that Turkish president Suleyman Demirel and Turkish Prime minister Tansu Ciller were also involved.[1]
Arrest
After being sentenced to several[How many?] years in prison for [Which?] criminal activities relating to the Susurluk scandal, he was released on probation in April 2013.[citation needed]
