Matthias "Matt" Frei is a British-German television news journalist and writer, who became Channel 4's Europe editor in 2024 and a regular presenter of the main Channel 4 News at 7pm.
Matt Frei joined the BBC in 1986 shortly after graduating from university. For many years, he was the BBC's Washington D.C. correspondent before joining Channel 4 in 2011 and remaining in Washington. Returning often from Washington, Frei became a semi-regular presenter on the Channel 4 News evening slot.[1]
