Haroldson Lafayette Hunt Jr known throughout his life as H. L. Hunt, was a skillful poker player who became a billionaire Texas oil tycoon and member of the US deep state through his involvement in the plot to assassinate JFK.
Background
Hunt did not go to grade school or high school. He said he saw schooling as an obstacle to making money.[1]
Activities
By trading poker winnings for oil rights, he secured title to much of the East Texas Oil Field, one of the world's largest oil deposits. This made him extremely wealthy. At the time of his death, he was reputed to have the highest net worth of any individual in the world.
