Senior policeman named in Epstein's black book

Not to be confused with George Hamilton-Gordon (4th Earl of Aberdeen) or George Douglas-Hamilton (10th Earl of Selkirk)

PSNI Chief Constable George Hamilton is a policeman named in Epstein's black book.

The board met for the first time in two years yesterday (7 February 2019), following new legislation passed by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland in November allowing for the reconstitution of the board which hadn't met since the collapse of Stormont.

Under questioning from political members of the board, George Hamilton, who announced last week that he would be retiring in June, said Michael Barton of Durham Constabulary would make himself "answerable for his actions" following the arrests of journalists Barry McCaffrey and Trevor Birney last August.

The two men were part of the team which produced "No Stone Unturned", a documentary that named key suspects in the murder of six men in Loughinisland in 1994.[1]
