Career

After high school, aged 18, Ayers enlisted in the United States Army. He was a paratrooper and was promoted through the ranks from private to captain.[1]

At JMWAVE he worked with members of anti-Castro groups like Alpha 66 and took part in Operation Mongoose.

Opinions

Bradley Ayers was one of the first career officers to voice opposition to the Vietnam War and to speak out publicly against the influence of private and special interests in American politics. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1965.

JFK Assassination

In a letter sent to John R. Tunheim in 1994, Ayers claimed that nine people based at JM/WAVE "have intimate operational knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the assassination" of John F. Kennedy. Ayers named Ted Shackley, Grayston Lynch, Felix Rodriguez, Thomas Clines, Gordon Campbell, David Morales, Rip Robertson, Edward Roderick and Tony Sforza as the men who had this information.

CIA Drug Trafficking

Ayers worked as an undercover informant for DEA in the Miami area in 1983 and 1984.[2] In 1985 and 1986, Ayers surveilled airplanes (parked at Miami International Airport) belonging to two CIA-related airlines ("formerly owned" by the CIA) under contract with the Dept. of Defense to transport materiel for the Contras. He repeatedly found traces of cocaine and marijuana inside the planes. Ayers' findings became court evidence in a lawsuit by the airlines against a Miami TV station, and was found to be truthful and accepted as evidence.ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20071018033520/http://ciadrugs.homestead.com/files/outline.html#DEAagents</ref>
