2022 Kazakh protests
The 2022 Kazakh protests began on 2 January, after a sudden sharp increase in liquefied gas prices. The protests began in the oil-producing city of Zhanaozen, but then quickly spread to other cities in the country, especially the nation's largest city Almaty. Geopolitical commentators have pointed out similarities to other color revolutions in the past.[2][3][4] Southfront speculates that it was a coup attempt coordinated by MI6.[5]
