Fred Streefland, EMSD, Bc. is a Dutch computer security specialist with ties to with ties to military intelligence.[1]
Career
Streefland "holds an Executive Master of Security & Defense (EMSD) from the Air Defense College and a bachelor’s degree (Bc.) from the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam. He has certificates of several security courses (Black Hat, SABSA, Idaho National Lab, IBM Big Data Analytics)."[2]
After graduating from the Military Academy, Fred served more than 20 years as an Intelligence & Security officer (LtCol) in the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) before he was offered a function as security consultant at IBM. After several years within IBM, Fred moved to Accenture as a senior manager where he led a team of 20 security consultants and he delivered a risk assessment project on SCADA systems within the energy domain. After this function he became Director Education & Training at the European Network for Cyber Security (ENCS), a start-up company in The Hague, and he developed the Red Team/Blue Team course for Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
Since 2008, he "was involved in the development of the Netherlands Cyber Security Strategy and the set-up of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Besides this, Fred is also a cyber-security advisor for several Members of Parliament and is being requested on a regular base as a security expert/spokesman for Business News Radio (BNR)."
He "is currently working as the Corporate Information Security Manager (CISO) of LeaseWeb. Within this organization, he is managing a small team of security engineers and is globally responsible for the corporate security of the LeaseWeb Group its entities. LeaseWeb is a Dutch hosting provider with the largest network of Europe and operating worldwide with several datacenters in the US (San Jose, Dallas, Manassas), Singapore, Germany and The Netherlands.
