One of the main pushers of COVID-19 and lockdown and experimental vaccines in Australia. The "experts" receive funds both direct from Pfizer and from major Pfizer shareholder the Gates Foundation.

The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute) a joint venture between the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, is, in its own words "a leader in research and clinical management of HIV and infectious diseases. The Doherty Institute, named after professor Peter Doherty, has more than 700 staff who work on infection and immunity through a broad spectrum of activities."[1]

Its modelling formed the "scientific" pretext for the Australian government's Covid actions[2][3].

Support from Pfizer

in 2021, Professor Doherty claimed[4] he never heard of 'Natural Immunity', [and] implied it is made up after using the term himself on the Twitter platform. In this tweet, Doherty also obfuscates about the vaccine bioweapon technology[5], using the terms 'largely natural' in conjunction with the mRNA and lipid nanoparticle platforms saying "lipid is fat, & we make mRNAs, both our own & from viruses, all the time"[6]

In September 2019, the Institute signed an agreement with Pfizer "to identify and validate new targets for cancer therapy". University of Melbourne Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences Associate Dean Mike McGuckin welcomed the support from Pfizer through the new research agreement[7]:

The University of Melbourne is seeking to deepen its relationships with industry and this support from Pfizer is a great example of the synergy that can be found between high quality fundamental research and the translational drug development expertise of industry."[7]

In addition to the funds direct from Pfizer, it also receives funding from major Pfizer and Moderna shareholder the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a tax-dodge for Bill Gates.[8]

Experiments

In March 2024, Doherty Clinical Trials (DCT), Australia's first unit dedicated to human challenge studies, where trial participants are given a dose of an infectious disease in a controlled setting, was opened. Some of the trials, "run in collaboration with academic researchers and biotech companies, will test novel technologies, including a microneedle patch and a prophylactic nasal spray for Covid – both of which are designed to replace jabs altogether – while a Moderna tie-up will seek to develop mRNA vaccines."[9]

In October 2023, the Doherty Institute joined CEPI's Centralised Laboratory Network, the largest global group dedicated to accelerating "the development and evaluation of new vaccines for faster responses to a future epidemic or pandemic threat". The Centralised Laboratory Network a key enabler of "the 100 Days Mission", the plan to shoehorn all testing and approval of new "vaccines" in only 100 days.[10]
