9/11
On September 12th, 2001, he and his son, Frederick Kagan argued in a radio interview that the US should launch a ground invasion of Palestineas a response to 9/11. He asserted that "we know [Arrafat] supports terrorism", and claiming that "so long as we go chasing around the actual perpetrators, our job is going to be next to impossible". He presaged the Amerithrax follow up event of later that month, asking "What would have happened if instead of just having a lot of jet fuel on those planes, they had had anthrax bacilli? have you and clue what that would have been? Those are the options. People are capable of doing that? How can we stop them? There is no way!"[1]
