Origins

Radio Free Europe was created and grew in its early years through the efforts of the National Committee for a Free Europe (NCFE), an organization that was formed in New York City in 1949.

Importance

Various CIA]] spooks started at Radio Free Europe, including Paul Henze (an original management team member, from 1952-1958) and Le Cercle attendee, Fritz Ermarth.
