Underwater Military Bases have been proposed in US military and engineering documents.[1][2][3][4][5]
The Mirror reported in 2016 that China has plans to construct a base nearly 10,000ft below the surface in the South China Sea.[6]
Official narrative
Some of the problems that are given in the construction of these bases (often to imply that it is very unlikely that any have been constructed):[7]
- extreme pressure
- corrosive nature of seawater
- limited access for maintenance and supply
- technically complex and costly to build
