German-language independent media outlet targeted by the intelligence services..

NachDenkSeiten (NDS) (English approx: The Reflextion-pages) is a German-language independent media outlet founded in 2001 by the former social-democrat politician Albrecht Müller. The website will touch upon deep politics such as false flags, and is also a critic of wars and neoliberal policies.

Political use of tax office

With effect from December 31, 2022, the German tax office revoked the non-profit status of its fundraising. The tax office wrote that "It can be seen from the range of topics on the website that, objectively, neither the transfer of knowledge nor political educational aspects in the sense of non-profit popular education are primarily promoted by the articles posted."[1]

NDS wrote that "the impetus for this decision probably does not come from the responsible tax office Landau, but from above."[2]

Opposition analysis

In 2022, NDS was the target of an "opposition analysis"[3] from Zentrum Liberale Moderne, a spooky think-tank connected to the militaristic wing of the Green party. The study was conducted with government funding.[4]

The analysis concluded that "As this investigation shows, the NachDenkSeiten is a highly ideologized, undifferentiated argumentative medium that postulates radical resistance and acts as a hinge for conspiracy theory thinking. In the case of individual topics, it deliberately places itself in a fundamentally oppositional Querfront" [i.e. not following party politics lines]. In the monitoring from January, it is claimed that "the NDS deliberately undermine confidence in the German media landscape."[4]
