Dr. Syngman Rhee was a US educated Korean who was installed in 1948 as the first President of South Korea (ROK).
Under Rhee, 24% of ROK’s Gross National Product (GNP) relied on prostitution that serviced U.S. soldiers who continued to occupy the country. Kim Ae Ran, a 58-year-old former prostitute, said in 2009 that “our government was one big pimp for the U.S. military.”[1]
