Li Wenliang was the doctor who published online about the new coronavirus which was later named COVID-19.

Disicplined

He was disciplined by the Chinese government for "spreading rumours", but posthumously pardoned.[1]

Illness

The BBC reported that "on 10 January he started coughing, the next day he had a fever and two days later he was in hospital. He was diagnosed with the coronavirus on 30 January."[2]
