Tor Sellström is a political scientist who was based at the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala, Sweden between 1994 and 2001. From 2006 to 2010, he served as senior advisor to ACCORD in Durban, South Africa.
Background
Tor Sellström gained his first degree from the University of Stockholm and undertook post-graduate studies at the Institute for Political Studies, University of Paris.
Career
He has been employed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Angola and by the Swedish International Development Authority, SIDA, holding various positions in Southern Africa and Sweden. Before joining the Nordic Africa Institute he served as Deputy Director of the Namibian Economic Policy Research Unit.[1]
Award
In January 2011, Sellström was awarded the degree of doctor honoris causa by Uppsala University.

Tor Sellström is the author of "Sweden and national liberation in Southern Africa", a three-volume study published by NAI in 1999/2002.[2]
