Mehmet Ali Bayar is a Turkish deep state connected diplomat cum politician. Bayar worked at Turkey's Washington embassy and has been an advisor to former President Suleyman Demirel.[1] His brother is fellow Bilderberger Uğur Bayar
He attended the 2003 Bilderberg meeting.
Education
After graduating from the economics department of New York University, he did a master's degree in international finance at the same university.
Career
He was very close to Suleyman Demirel during his prime ministership (1991-93) and presidency (1993-2000) and was his foreign policy adviser. The undersecretary of the Embassy in Washington left his post and entered politics. He was the chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkey.
Family
His grandfather, Kemal Aygün, who was the Mayor of Istanbul and the Istanbul Provincial Chairman of the Democrat Party, married Sevinç Hanım, the daughter of the uncle of Refik Koraltan, one of the founders of the Democrat Party.
His mother is Baysan Aygün Bayar, who translated many bestsellers into Turkish. She married Dr. Nuri Bayar, the DP Beşiktaş District Chairman, Justice Party MP, and Minister of Industry and Technology for two terms.
Former Privatization Chairman Uğur Bayar is his brother.[2] He also was a member of the board of trustees of Acıbadem University.
