Iowa Caucuses are the first major contest of the US Presidential Election.

2020

The Democratic caucus in 2020 was controversial after difficulties and errors in the reporting of the final vote totals. Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price resigned because of the chaos.[1] The DNC reacted by moving the caucus to March and pulling South Carolina to be the first starting in 2024.[2]
