Page purpose

Place to archive videos which have appeared on the main page. Quick and dirty just to get a rotation started. There are many videos worthy of main page promotion and subsequent archiving but opportunity missed for want of something like this. facility to link videos to appropriate pages plus other facilities/methods etc. --Peter P (talk) 07:41, 25 July 2014 (IST)

I suggest putting most recent at the top - since people will probably be most interested in these, over all. Actually, with a bit of scripting, it should be possible to have the main page automatically pick up the most recent one from here, so that the main page code doesn't need changing, to post a new video it would suffice to add one to the top of this list. I'll do that - and a script to avoid the need for main page editing would be good. Not sure how to go about doing that though - same applies to the pic archive too. BTW - concept icon on the main page seems to have disappeared; can't find 'concept.png' which is what the code wants--Peter P (talk) 11:39, 15 August 2014 (IST)

New use?

I reckon we used this to link Main Page/Videos and Template:MainPageVideo . As the main panel uses the archive panel, and people will click on it, I decided to revive this page.. to make sure people don't get on a page when they press that link on the main page. Let me know if that is frowned upon as Costanza would say it. --Jun (talk) 06:50, 1 July 2022 (UTC)
