Kim Janey is the acting Mayor of Boston. She is the first woman and first black person to serve as mayor of the city.
Career
She served on the City Council.
She replaced Marty Walsh who was appointed to the Biden Administration.
She opposes vaccine passports, and compared it to slavery.[1] For this stance, she was attacked by the City Council which wants them.[2] She was also criticised by the Boston Globe newspaper.[3]
On 20 August 2021, she enacted a mask mandate for all Boston ‘indoor public settings’.[4]
She is ran for a full term in November 2021 but came in fourth place.[5]
