Timothy DeFoggi
On the 26th August, 2014, Timothy DeFoggi, aged 56, a former acting director of cyber security for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, was convicted of conspiracy to advertise and distribute child pornography, and accessing a computer with intent to view child pornography in connection with his membership in a child pornography website. The US Department of Justice stated that DeFoggi "even suggested meeting one member in person to fulfill their mutual fantasies to violently rape and murder children."[1] Time magazine noted that "It’s unclear if his illegal activity overlapped with his work for the government."[2]
Wired magazine reports that DeFoggi worked for the department from 2008 until January 2014.[3]
