Description | An accessory murder to the JFK assassination |
J. D. Tippit was murdered in Dallas, Texas on the same day as JFK was assassinated, 22 November 1963.
Significance
The Tippit murder presumably fulfilled some role in the JFK assassination plot. Joseph McBride has suggested that it may have been intended to maximise the likelihood that Lee Harvey Oswald was shot rather than apprehended by the Dallas police.
