GMO food safety

Séralini and his prodcued research which suggested that GMO food caused an increase in tumors in lab rats. "A wave of biotech-industry criticism ensued."[1] After a PR "offensive" by Monsanto and the commercially-controlled media, the journal the published his study caved and withdrew it. Big media had less to say about the fact that in 2015 his research was successfully replicated during a defamation lawsuit.[2]

In this study researchers led by Gilles-Eric Seralini from CRIIGEN have found that rats fed on a diet containing NK603 Roundup tolerant GM maize or given water containing Roundup, at levels permitted in drinking water and GM crops in the US, developed cancers faster and died earlier than rats fed on a standard diet. They suffered breast cancer and severe liver and kidney damage.
