In 1997, the ten year old Malcolm started an apartment fire which killed his grandmother Betty Shabazz.

Died in a bar fight. Suspicious? Yes.[1] Shabazz wrote about the possibility of being taken out — not in a purported bar fight but at the hands of US agents. [2]
