American intelligence and communications firm

Strategic Social was an American intelligence and communications firm based in Los Gatos, California, Arlington, Virginia and Washington, D.C. It also operated regional offices in Kabul and Kandahar, Afghanistan, as well as Basra and Baghdad, Iraq.[1][2] The firm developed communication and engagement campaigns across Africa, the Middle East, the Maghreb, and Afghanistan, across print, radio, television and online.[3]

History

Strategic Social was founded in 2009. It was acquired by Constellis Group on March 5, 2014.[4] The company then merged with a number of other private military contractor companies in June 2014 under the Constellis Holdings banner, including Academi (formerly known as Blackwater), AMK9, Centerra Group, Edinburgh International, Gregg Protection Services, National Strategic Protective Services (NSPS), Olive Group, Omniplex, Pontaris, and Tidewater Global Services (TGS).[5]
