Löfving has been the subject of an investigation within the police, in which it was found that he acted negligently in several situations regarding the former intelligence chief in the National Police Operations Department (Noa), Linda Staaf. Löfving and Staaf were in a relationship when he hired her in 2015, and the investigation also criticized a salary increase in 2016 where Mats Löfving decided to increase Linda Staaf's salary.[1][2]
