His research interests include the politics of European integration, transatlantic relations, defence policy-making, and the ongoing redefinition of state sovereignty. At the Free University of Brussels he teaches the courses 'Political Structures and Processes of the European Union' and 'International Security and Strategic Studies'. At the College of Europe in Bruges, he teaches on 'European Defence Cooperation and NATO'.[1]
