The Independent Media Institute (IMI) is a nonprofit organization that educates the public through a diverse array of independent media projects and programs. "Since 1983, the Independent Media Institute has served the public through the creation and distribution of content about political and social issues."[1]
In 1998, IMI founded AlterNet, a well known progressive left website. In early 2018, IMI sold AlterNet.[2] In June 2018, it founded The Deep State Blog.
Funding and Problems
