Activities
Oxitec has established partnerships with large agricultural corporations[1] and their investor lobbying groups, especially the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation,[2].
In 2018 their mosquito technology began field trials in Indaiatuba, a municipality in the Brazilian state of São Paulo.[3] Because of their heavy backing, the trial was naturally approved.
It released GM mosquitos in Florida in 2021.[4]
