On the film Operation Gladio, he noted that "The minister let this amazing detail be known, that he didn't know that a stay-behind existed in the Belgian army and State Security. Gladio has always been protected... After the war, the [[Chief of the SIS|head of the Intelligence Service]], [[Stewart Menzies|Menzies]]. Menzies contacted the Belgian Foreign minister for Foreign Affairs, [[Paul-Henri Spaak|Mr. Spaak]].
