The Technische Universität Darmstadt (official English name Technical University of Darmstadt, commonly known as TU Darmstadt, is a research university in the city of Darmstadt, Germany.
The TU Darmstadt maintains strategic alliances with the companies Merck, Continental, Bosch, Siemens and Deutsche Bahn.[1] The university is renowned for its engineering school, but also architecture, economics and psychology. It is one of the universities with the highest number of senior management in Germany having attended. It belongs to the top 3 in number of DAX business leaders who studied there.[2]
In 1882, it was the first university in the world to set up a chair in electrical engineering. TU Darmstadt has assumed a pioneering role in Germany. Computer science, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, business informatics, political science and many more courses were introduced as scientific disciplines in Germany by Darmstadt faculty.[3][4][5]
