The Taxation Minister of Denmark (Danish: Skatteminister) is the head of the Tax Ministry of Denmark and a member of the Cabinet. As the head of the Tax Ministry, the Danish Tax Minister is responsible for areas concerning taxes and tariffs, as well as labour marked funds.
The mission is to run a well-run tax administration that is capable of doing its core tasks with high quality. It requires correct and efficient administration, that it is easy and simple for citizens and companies to settle taxes and fees, and that at the same time there is a focus on legal certainty.[1]
In 1902, the Directorate-General for Customs and the Ministry of Taxation, which was to be in charge of direct taxation, was established. Until 13 February 1975, the Ministry of Taxation and the Ministry of Customs were under the Ministry of Finance, but have since constituted a separate ministry, from 10 September 1987 called the Ministry of Taxation.[2]
