Marcell Rene "Gooch" Gough was a CIA contractor.
Activities
Gough worked closely with fellow Navy SEAL Jim Hawes[1] in the Congo and the two were close friends.
Death
Gough was killed[When?] in the Congo during the Congolese Operation while working for the CIA. He Many years later the CIA finally confirmed Rene was working for the CIA when he was killed while serving in the Congolese Operation.
In 2016 his son received a phone call from CIA Director John Brennan to confirm that his father was CIA and would be the recipient of the 84th star on the CIA Wall of Honor[2].
