Anne Sacoolas was reportedly driving on the right-hand side of the rode when her SUV collided head on with the motorbike of Harry Dunn.[2]

Mystery still surrounds the exact circumstances of how the Sacoolas family were able to flee in the days after the crash, but the US government claim they notified the Foreign Office that they were leaving.[3]
She claimed "diplomatic immunity", which the UK/FCO denied, then fled the country aboard a US Air Force aircraft. The UK police told.[4]

The US government denied an extradition request.[4] The US State Department stated that "The driver was the spouse of an accredited diplomat to the United Kingdom", although Craig Murray notd that since "there is no Jonathan Sacoolas on the official Diplomatic list.
