Mass compulsion schooling came to prominence in Prussia in the 19th century, and was swiftly followed by a huge rise in militarism in that country. Neighbours UK and France copied the tactic, while emissaries from Japan and USA were dispatched to learn how to institute forced schooling in those countries.
