The Wedtech scandal lead to the resignation of Ed Meese after it emerged that his close friend had worked as a lobbyist for the Wedtech. He claimed however that the report produced independent counsel James McKay "fully vindicates me." McKay stated that he had insufficient evidence to indict Meese on most key matters under scrutiny.[1]
