Superfund sites (Pollution, Ecocide) | |

Superfund sites are polluted areas in the United States which require a long-term effort in cleaning up hazardous material.[1][2] The contamination of these areas is mostly in the soil and groundwater. They are also termed national sacrifice zones, for cases when especially severe pollution makes remediation impossible.
