Nathan Farragut Twining was a United States Air Force general, born in Monroe, Wisconsin.[1] He was the chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1953[2] until 1957, and the third chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1957 to 1960. He was the first member of the Air Force to serve as Chairman.
