Epstein affair
After litigation by the Miami Herald,[2] Preska unsealed court documents, ruling that the presumption of public access to these documents “far outweighed” any rights to avoid embarrassment or annoyance claimed by Maxwell.[3][2]
Steven Donziger
In October 2021, a day after the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention said it was “appalled” by the U.S. legal system’s treatment of Steven Donziger, Loretta Preska sentenced him to 6 months.[4]
