Extraneous tags in WpURL when page previewed or confirmed

I'm confident the problem is with the form not the template. It has to do with the way Mediawiki interprets any text beginning with "http(s)//". I've tried putting 'nowiki' tags and quotes around the field value with interesting results but not what is required. All reverted and thinking cap back on. --Peter P (talk) 09:47, 14 May 2013 (IST)

Yeah. It's a software bug/incompatability with Form:WpPage introduced somewhere. The first thing I did was to check you had the latest version of semantic forms. I believe the form passes the url as a string like it's always done. The problem is more likely to be what Midiawiki does with that string (has default behaviour changed with either the php or MW u/grade?). As things stand it appears to be converting it to an <a> tagged html url complete with 'nofollow' and 'rel' params. Either SMW needs to inhibit that behaviour (#NOWIKI looks promising) or a MW config parameter needs adjusting. I have grandchildren with me again for two days so will probably not be able to do much 'til after. This discussion is relevant --Peter P (talk) 20:30, 14 May 2013 (IST)
