David Paulides is a former police officer with work experience in a SWAT team.[1]

National parks
He started to investigate what he has defined as "unusual disappearances" of people in national parks. The main characteristics can include:
- people and children disappear very close to others
- search dogs can not pick up a scent, and/or refuse to proceed on a certain path
- unusual bad weather hits the search area directly after the disappearance in many cases
- sometimes bodies/remains are found in areas that have intensively searched
- children that were found alive have walked distances that seem impossible in the time given
