Creator of Nonviolent Communication, a communication process that helps people to exchange the information necessary to resolve conflicts and differences peacefully.

Marshall Rosenberg was the creator of Nonviolent Communication, a communication process that helps people to exchange the information necessary to resolve conflicts and differences peacefully. In contrast to traditional procedures for arbitration, which focus on adherance to laws, or determination of right and wrong, externally motivating desired behavior through threats or rewards, NVC focuses on empathy with others, group harmony, "making life more wonderful", making sure people's basic needs are met.

Enemy images

Marshall Rosenberg often spoke of the need to avoid using "enemy images" to label people, which polarize thinking and preclude peace. This deceptively simple formulation may provide a rich source of inspiration for students of history and deep politics.
