Wikipedia considers this topic a "conspiracy theory"

In 2017 the "Irish slaves myth" became an article on Wikipedia, with some dispute between that name and the original Irish indentured servants. It asserts that white nationalists make a false equivalency between Irish slavery and the transatlantic slave trade. In 2016, Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams was accused of promoting the myth.[1]
