The Australian Green party |
The Australian Greens, commonly known as The Greens, are a confederation of Green state and territory political parties in Australia. Since the 2000s it has been the third largest political party in Australia.
"Transphobia"
In 2023, the Victorian branch of the party added new clause added to the code of conduct, makes it clear that engaging in "transphobia", including "denying the existence of non-binary genders", is a breach of the behavioural standards for members,[1] and is cause for expulsion.[2]
Drew Hutton, founding member of the Queensland Greens (1991) and co-founder of the Australian Greens alongside Bob Brown (1992), was suspended from the party in 2022 for this. In 2025 Hutton stated that elements within the party , and others taking up the transgender debate, "have become a cult."[3]
Covid
Supported mandatory Covid jabs for healthcare workers.[4]
