Actions
In response to an estimated 7,000,000 tonnes of food wasted in France each year, Guillaume Garot proposed a bill to make it illegal for large French supermarkets to throw away or destroy food that had passed its sell by date. The bill passed unanimously, so large supermarkets are now required to give surplus food to charities for redistribution.[1]
