Template talk:SubPages

The template is not picking up the World War I/Key Players and keeps a mistakenly created and subsequently deleted sub page World War I/World War I Genesis whilst not picking up its replacement World War I/Genesis. I've rebuilt the SMW data from scratch once to no avail. Not sure what to try next to get this fixed --Peter P (talk) 21:21, 8 February 2014 (GMT)
- This template doesn't actually look at the sub-pages but instead reads the Property:Has subEvent and Property:Has aspect as set in the parent page's template. It could be changed, but the loose plan is to choose a set of subPages that are likely to have widespread applicability (e.g. motive, means, method, official narrative...) so we can generate links to these by default from the event template. The goal being a standardisation of article structure the better to traverse it with software. Time will tell how effectively we can strike a balance between human- and machine- readable. See Wikispooks talk:Standardisation for a first go at making a list. Robin (talk) 04:57, 9 February 2014 (GMT)
- Thanks Robin. Again, no issues with you pressing on. For sure I would never have got the site functionality to anything like its current potential without your work. If I notice anything untoward, I'll probably first have a go at fixing it myself (good way to increase understanding of how it all works) - then give you a heads up if needed. --Peter P (talk) 07:04, 9 February 2014 (GMT)
