The city of Fallujah in central Iraq was a centre of cultrure and history. It was singled out by US forces for total destruction, using illegal chemical and radiological weapons (depleted uranium and white phosphorous) on the civilian inhabitants, leaving a legacy of radiological pollution which will last for millennia.
