Context

In July 2020, Harper's Magazine published an open letter called "A Letter on Justice and Open Debate" criticizing "illiberalism" in (it did not use the term 'cancel culture') and promoting a tolerance of different viewpoints.[1]

Julian Assange has been a victim of cancel culture.
